“...in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear...” (Heb. 5:7)
Was Jesus saved from death? Didn’t He die on the cross? Didn’t He stay dead for three days? Then why does this verse say He “was heard” (meaning He was saved from death)? Because He rose the third day and conquered death. There is a powerful truth in this verse and it is this... To be saved from a circumstance or trial does not necessarily mean that God will take you out of the trial, but that He will take you straight through the trial and conquer the trial. Christ was saved from death by going through death and destroying it. That is a salvation that saves through conquering. So hold on and do not fear, whether you must be taken out of the trial or go through the trial, you will be saved from it.
